Saturday 16 March 2019

The Hotel Rottnest Port to Pub swim is an open water swimming event in Perth, Western Australia, designed to cater for the increased demand for long distance swimming and the interest from local, interstate and international swimmers to cross the iconic Rottnest Channel.

The swim comprises two races over two distances from Leighton Beach to Rottnest Island – a direct crossing (19.7km) and a 25km ultra-marathon. The swim is open to solos, duos, and teams of four and six. It begins at Leighton Beach outside Fremantle Surf Lifesaving Club and finishes at the Hotel Rottnest.

The 25km ultra-marathon swim is open to qualified solo swimmers. It is the longest open water swim on offer in Australia, and one of the longest in the Southern Hemisphere.

MSWA has some great expansion plans designed to bring us closer to our community, and grow our services and sites to better meet the needs of Members and Clients. Our rapid growth, paired with our ambition to be the convenient ‘one-stop shop’ has allowed us to build new facilities across Western Australia, including our $1.5 million MSWA Bunbury Community and Health Services Centre in the South West and our $8 million MSWA Butler Supported Accommodation and Services Facility in the northern suburbs.

“MSWA has given me my life back”

After suffering a stroke in 2009, Lyndee was living in a nursing home before moving to one of MSWA’s high support facilities in Fern River. She’s now among people of her own age, and receiving the support she needs to participate in activities with her loved ones – including her adored granddaughter, Lyric.

“MSWA was a godsend. The care and support I get here is just amazing. Working with the physiotherapist has helped to get some movement back in my left side, which helped with my talking, which is good because I’m a bit of a social butterfly!”
-Lyndee Aspey, MSWA Client
